In most instances, foundation issues need to be considered serious problems and should be addressed as soon as they become apparent. Ram Jack Northwest, LLC. includes installation of helical piers and steel push piers to underpin and/or recover the problem area of an existing foundation.

THE RAM JACK® SOLUTION STEP BY STEP
Step 1. Assessment.
Ram Jack Northwest, LLC. provides an onsite evaluation to determine the causes of settlement and potential resolution. Once Ram Jack Northwest, LLC. has determined that settlement is the cause, we will then commission a geotech soil study and structural engineer’s calculations and drawings for the repair.
Step 2. Obtaining a Building Permit.
All piering jobs require a building permit as per the building code law in the State of Washington.
Step 3: Site Preparation.
Ram Jack Northwest, LLC. crews will designate and mark off where the piers will be driven and a utility locate will be performed prior to work beginning.
Step 4: Excavation.
At each pre-assessed piering marker, our crew will dig access holes. Locations will be excavated and brackets and piers installed.
Step 5: Driving the Piers.
Engineers are on-sight to verify the location, depth of the drive and hydraulic pressures. With this information we can then calculate the piers capacity after the pier has reached refusal. Piers designated by the Geotech are tested with a hydraulic load cell to 2 times their design load (building code requirement.) The procedure is verified by the Special Inspector/Geotech.
Step 6: Stabilizing and/or Recovery.
The house is now ready for recovery (should it be required.) An 18 point hydraulic lifting system is installed and settled areas are brought to recovery (lifted) as the house will allow. All piers are stabilized and warranted not to settle for life.
Step 7: Locking the Piers.
Once testing and recovery is completed, we then lock off the pier in its place by bolting down the locking tension cap.
Step 8: Cleaning Up.
The holes are refilled and any surface concrete breakthroughs are repaired. Yards, walkways and driveways are cleaned, and any excess materials are removed from the site. The full procedure, from start to finish, usually takes from one to three days (per original contract.)
